Morenci, AZ experienced late-afternoon radar-detected hail on June 3, 2026, with a peak radar-derived diameter of 2.17 inches. The event produced multiple NWS alerts and concluded the same evening.
Storm activity arrived in late afternoon and produced two distinct NWS alert periods in the Morenci area. The first alert registered at 4:03 PM MST and included a dual-polarization radar detection indicating 2.02-inch hail. The second alert occurred at 5:05 PM MST and showed a separate dual-polarization radar detection of 1.06-inch hail. The report is a multi-zone aggregate of those detections across the Morenci metro area. Radar-derived detections drove the alerts; no active warnings remained after the 5:05 PM observation.
Radar-derived hail reached a maximum diameter of 2.17 inches within the aggregate storm footprint. Hail at or above this size is consistent with vehicle panel dents, broken skylights or glass, and localized failure of asphalt shingles on exposed roof slopes. The smaller 1.06-inch detections across the later alert are consistent with cosmetic damage to siding, minor dents to unsecured metal, and accelerated wear on older roofing materials. Impacts were concentrated within the aggregated detection zones near Morenci, AZ, corresponding to the two radar alert times listed above.
No spotter-verified ground reports are included in this aggregate summary. Field inspection will be required to document exact loss locations and severity within the affected areas.
Prioritize visual roofing and exterior inspections in areas along the radar-derived track. Start with vehicles, metal roofing, skylights, and exposed solar arrays. Photograph damage with a dated reference and capture multiple angles. Record measurements of hail-imprinted dents and collect any broken glass or shingle fragments for claims support.
For temporary repairs, secure tarps and cover breaches to prevent water intrusion. Check attic spaces for signs of impact-related leaks after the next rainfall. Prepare written estimates that reference the two radar-detected hail peaks—4:03 PM MST (2.02-inch detection) and 5:05 PM MST (1.06-inch detection)—and note that this report is an aggregate of those detections. Coordinate with adjusters and provide photographic evidence, measurements, and a clear map of inspected addresses.
