A hail-producing storm tracked through Maysville, MO on June 10, 2026, generating repeated NWS warning polygons and radar-detected hail returns and producing stones up to 2.3 inches. The event triggered 51 NWS alerts from mid-morning into the late evening.
The first NWS alert arrived at 8:38 AM CDT for 0.75-inch hail. Activity intensified in the late afternoon. A cluster of warnings and radar-detected hail returns began around 3:11 PM CDT and continued through early evening. Dual-polarization radar flagged multiple strong hail cores between about 3:37 PM and 7:30 PM CDT. NWS warning-only polygons accompanied many of those radar returns. Spotter-verified observations were recorded during the late-afternoon convective pulse.
Spotter reports indicate concentrated impacts in two corridors. At 4:30 PM CDT observers relayed 2-inch hail in Weldon, reported via local media and logged by storm observers. At 4:44 PM CDT multiple spotters described golf-ball sized hail along Interstate 35 near Pattonsburg. A mPING submission at 4:16 PM CDT described ping-pong ball sized hail in the broader Maysville area. Radar-detected hail returns and spotter-verified reports overlapped spatially during the 4:00–6:30 PM CDT window, with additional radar echoes persisting into the early evening and a final NWS warning-only alert at 9:26 PM CDT.
Field reports and radar returns show concentrated surface impacts along Interstate 35 near Pattonsburg and in Weldon. Multiple spotters at 4:44 PM CDT described golf-ball sized hail accumulating on roadway shoulders along I-35, and three independent spotter-verified submissions at 4:30 PM CDT reported 2-inch hail in Weldon. A mPING report at 4:16 PM CDT recorded ping-pong ball sized stones. A later observer at 6:13 PM CDT estimated 1.5–2 inch hail based on radar timing.
Inspectors arriving in Weldon should expect denting consistent with large stone impacts on vehicle panels and potential shattering on older single-pane glass where vehicles were exposed during the 4:30 PM CDT time window. Along the I-35 corridor near Pattonsburg, reports described concentrated fallout on shoulders and median areas that may have caused visible panel dents to parked fleet vehicles and localized vegetation stripping. Photographs time-stamped near the reported observation times provide the strongest field verification for claims originating from the I-35 and Weldon reports.
No widespread roof-loss reports were submitted to the NWS for this event. Damage indicators in the field reports are specific to localized vehicle and vegetation impacts tied to the reported locations and times. Contractors should treat the Weldon cluster and the I-35 corridor as priority zones for visual inspection based on the spotter-verified submissions.
Prioritize on-site visual inspections in Weldon and along Interstate 35 near Pattonsburg, focusing first on vehicles and exposed fleet assets reported at 4:30–4:45 PM CDT. Carry high-resolution time-stamped imaging gear and portable measuring tools. Match photographs to the 4:16 PM to 6:30 PM CDT window when most spotter and radar overlap occurred.
