NWS alerts for this storm totaled five warning areas issued between mid-afternoon and early evening. Dual-polarization radar detected hail at the following times and sizes: 1:37 PM MDT (1.3 inches), 1:54 PM MDT (1.75 inches), 3:48 PM MDT (1.0 inch), 4:10 PM MDT (1.51 inches), and 4:18 PM MDT (1.08 inches). Alerts moved across multiple municipal and unincorporated zones within the Sacramento metro footprint. Radar returns were consistent with hail signatures on each alert. The event began in the early afternoon and produced the most intense radar hail signatures around mid-afternoon before additional cells produced smaller hail in the late afternoon and early evening. The storm is concluded.
