A hail-producing storm passed through Orlando, Oklahoma on June 23, 2026, producing hail up to 1.2 inches in diameter. The event generated multiple NWS warnings and radar hail detections across the metro area.
The event began in mid-morning and continued into the early evening. At 10:43 AM CDT (15:43 UTC) dual-polarization radar detected 1.0-inch hail over western portions of the metro. NWS warning-only reports followed in the afternoon: 0.88-inch at 1:18 PM CDT (18:18 UTC), 1.0-inch at 1:38 PM CDT (18:38 UTC), 1.0-inch at 2:08 PM CDT (19:08 UTC), and 0.75-inch at 2:34 PM CDT (19:34 UTC). The sequence produced five distinct NWS alerts covering the Orlando metro warning area. The storm has concluded.
Radar detections and warning-only reports both contributed to the overall record. Dual-polarization radar provided the earliest hail detection. Subsequent NWS warning-only reports expanded the warning area and recorded additional hail reports through mid- and late afternoon.
Alert reports for this event show hail measurements clustered between three-quarters of an inch and one inch across the NWS warning area, with a separate confirmation increasing the documented peak to 1.2 inches. Hail in the three-quarter- to one-inch range commonly causes cosmetic vehicle damage, chips to windshields under certain impact angles, and granular loss on asphalt shingles.
