A severe hail-producing storm tracked through Enid, Oklahoma on June 26, 2026, producing a peak 3.53-inch hailstone and multiple intense radar cores across the metro. The event began in the late afternoon and continued into the overnight hours, generating 59 NWS alerts for the NWS alert area across June 26–27.
Initial NWS alerting started at 5:28 PM CDT with multiple "NWS warning only" advisories through the early evening. Dual-polarization radar (NEXRAD hail detection) returned repeated hail cores beginning around 5:35 PM CDT and intensifying near 6:30 PM CDT with radar-estimated stones over 3.0 inches. Spotter and crowd-sourced observations arrived throughout the night. A cluster of mPING quarter-size reports was timestamped near 7:29 PM CDT. Multiple photographic spotter submissions around 9:45 PM CDT showed 2.0-inch stones, followed by several Twitter-sourced reports around 9:56 PM CDT describing 1.75-inch hail. Radar and spotter integration produced further large-stone detections late in the event, including radar-plus-spotter verification near 11:57 PM CDT.
Alerts across the sequence alternated between NWS warning only and radar-detected hail calls. Many radar-detected returns ranged from roughly 1.1 to 3.3 inches during the night, with several distinct cores passing over different portions of the Enid metro between late afternoon and the pre-dawn hours.
Field reports in Enid show localized surface impacts concentrated in areas where spotters recorded photographic evidence. Three spotter-verified photographic reports at 9:45 PM CDT documented 2.0-inch stones. Multiple independent Twitter reports at 9:56 PM CDT described 1.75-inch stones. mPING submissions near 7:29 PM CDT recorded quarter-size hail in other neighborhoods. Those photographic and observer reports served as basis for time-anchored size estimates used in the storm record.
Dual-polarization radar detected repeated hail cores that overlapped the spotter locations, with several radar-estimated cores above 2 inches after 10:00 PM CDT and radar-plus-spotter verification at 11:57 PM CDT. The combination of photographic spotter evidence and radar cores indicates the storm produced isolated pockets of larger stones amid widespread smaller hail. Field reports referenced image-based size estimates rather than measured diameter for several of the larger observations.
Local reports do not include systematic municipal damage surveys in this dataset. The available ground-truth consists of multiple size observations and time stamps tied to photographic or crowd-sourced submissions. Use those time-stamped observations to prioritize inspections in the neighborhoods where spotters submitted images between 9:45 PM CDT and 9:56 PM CDT, and in locations corresponding to the late radar cores documented after 10:00 PM CDT.

Try the Free Demo →Inspect crews should prioritize the Enid neighborhoods with spotter-photographs from 9:45 PM CDT and the areas with radar-plus-spotter verification at 11:57 PM CDT. Photographic 2.0-inch and 1.75-inch reports indicate a high likelihood of localized severe panel dents to vehicles and concentrated shingle granule loss on exposed roofs in those zones. Begin external inspections with vehicle lots, exposed HVAC units, and south- or west-facing roof slopes where photographic evidence was collected.
Because the storm produced multiple hail cores across several hours, expect variable strike patterns within short distances. Use time-stamped field reports to guide block-by-block sampling rather than assuming uniform impact across the metro. Document roof cover type, fastener condition, and localized dent patterns on metalwork. Photograph representative damage next to a measuring reference to corroborate report-based size estimates.
Plan follow-up visits in daylight. Several large-stone observations occurred near nightfall and overnight; photographic reports may under- or overestimate diameter without a reference. Prioritize safety when accessing rooftops and coordinate with property owners for vehicle inspections. For precise hail-track and radar-derived impact locations, consult the Strike Map (paid product) for exact, downloadable hail track data.
