Ten NWS alerts covered the Shelbyville metro on July 5. The first alert issued at 10:24 AM CDT and the final alert issued at 5:40 PM CDT. Multiple messages were labeled NWS warning only. Dual-polarization NEXRAD hail detections were reported at three distinct times: 12:22 PM CDT (1.1-inch radar-detected signature), 2:29 PM CDT (1.1-inch radar-detected signature), and 5:25 PM CDT (1.35-inch radar-detected signature). Overall monitoring and field reports produced a maximum verified hail measurement of 1.71 inches within the event area. The storm concluded later the same day.
