Arivaca, AZ is being impacted by a multi-zone hail event that began on July 27, 2026, producing a peak hail diameter of 1.59 inches and continuing to track through the region.
The storm initiated in the early evening of July 27 and persisted into the overnight hours, generating multiple NWS alerts and mixed radar verification. At 6:39 PM MST on July 27 a dual-polarization radar detection indicated 1.01-inch hail within the warning area. At 11:33 PM MST on July 27 the NWS issued a warning-only alert that did not include radar hail detection for the polygoned area. At 2:18 AM MST on July 28 a later NWS warning-only alert reported 1.00-inch hail in portions of the warning polygon. Aggregated reports show a maximum hail diameter of 1.59 inches in the broader event footprint. The storm remains active and is continuing to produce intermittent hail reports and warning polygons across the Arivaca metro.
Radar-detected hail around the 1.0-inch range within the Arivaca warning areas can produce localized denting to vehicle body panels and loss of shingle granules on asphalt roofs along the storm track. Where the event produced larger stones approaching the observed peak, expect deeper impact marks on metal roof panels and potential pitting on exposed rooftop equipment.
