Fort Hancock, TX experienced a severe thunderstorm on August 7, 2026, producing up to 1.46-inch hail and continuing to track through the area. The storm remains active and may still be producing hail across the warning area.
A multi-zone storm tracked across Fort Hancock in the late afternoon and early evening. NWS issued four alerts covering the storm's warning area. The sequence of alerts and primary detections is as follows:
