Fort Stockton, TX, August 13, 2026: A storm is tracking through the Fort Stockton metro and producing radar-detected hail up to 1.29 inches.
NWS alert areas were issued for the Fort Stockton metro as the storm moved through early evening and into the night. Dual-polarization NEXRAD hail detection first flagged 1.19-inch hail at 8:00 PM CDT (01:00 UTC). A follow-up NEXRAD detection indicated 1.20-inch hail at 9:15 PM CDT (02:15 UTC). Radar returns later in the evening show a peak radar-derived hail size of 1.29 inches as the line continued eastward across the metro. The event remains active and is continuing to produce convective cells over the region.
