Bouse, Arizona experienced a late-afternoon to early-evening hail event on August 30, 2026, with peak hail up to 1.77 inches in diameter. The storm concluded the same evening after a sequence of NWS warnings and radar detections.
The storm moved through Bouse between mid-afternoon and early evening on August 30. NWS issued 11 alerts tied to this event. Four alerts contained dual-polarization radar NEXRAD hail detections at these local times: 4:04 PM MST (1.21 inch), 4:54 PM MST (1.03 inch), 7:17 PM MST (1.16 inch), and 7:57 PM MST (1.51 inch). The remaining alerts were NWS warning-only entries reporting 0.75-inch hail at multiple times in the late-afternoon and early-evening period, including around 3:07 PM MST, 4:15 PM MST, 4:40 PM MST, 4:49 PM MST, 5:19 PM MST, and 6:56 PM MST.
Radar returns show repeated hail signatures along the storm track through Bouse. The mix of radar-detected returns and NWS warning-only alerts indicates periods of stronger updrafts interspersed with weaker convective pulses. The event concluded after the 7:57 PM MST radar-detected alert.
Recorded hail sizes during this event ranged from 0.75 inch to 1.77 inches in diameter. Hail at 0.75 inch commonly dents vehicle bodywork and can nick window screens. Hail in the 1.0–1.5 inch range can cause more significant cosmetic and functional damage to vehicles, dent aluminum siding, and dislodge loose roof shingles. Hail approaching and exceeding 1.75 inches can crack single-pane glass, fracture skylights, and produce localized roof membrane failures on low-slope roofing.
In Bouse, the combination of multiple pulses and the late-afternoon timing increased exposure for parked vehicles and unprotected exterior equipment. Property owners should expect vehicle dents, broken landscaping elements, and isolated roof and gutter damage in areas that intersected the stronger radar-detected returns.
Prioritize exterior roof inspections in areas that aligned with the radar detections at 4:04 PM MST and 7:57 PM MST. Start with an aerial or elevated inspection to identify shingle fracture patterns, granule loss, and punctures to low-slope membranes. Document locations with timestamped photos and note whether damage clusters correspond to the radar-detected pulses.
For vehicles and glazing, advise clients to inventory and photograph visible dents and cracked glass before any repair work. Use temporary tarping for concentrated roof failures and secure permits when removing or replacing roofing materials. Coordinate with adjusters using the radar-detected times and the sequence of NWS warning-only alerts to show event timing and intensity.
