NWS issued one warning area that covered portions of the town and adjacent rural roads. The warning area tracked generally southeast across the metro zone before the storm concluded that evening.

Radar returns showed a compact hail core. NEXRAD hail detection indicated the strongest reflectivity near the populated center of Carrizozo during the warning period. No additional NWS alert areas were issued for this cell after the 4:33 PM detection. Field reports have not been provided in the public NWS messaging for this zone.
