Morton, TX experienced a multi-zone hail event on September 19, 2026, producing stones up to 2.03 inches and repeated radar-detected and NWS warning-only alerts. The storm moved through the area from mid-afternoon into early evening.

What Happened

The first radar-detected hail alert appeared around 3:01 PM CDT, showing roughly 1.00-inch returns on dual-polarization radar. The radar returned larger detections later in the afternoon, including a 1.67-inch radar signature near 3:56 PM CDT. Additional radar-detected echoes occurred in the late afternoon and early evening, including a 1.25-inch detection around 6:36 PM CDT. NWS warning-only notices were issued repeatedly from mid-afternoon into early evening, with the final NWS warning-only alert issued at 8:36 PM CDT.
